Semiconductors
Since 1998 when it started operations as the first Japanese firm specialized in test wafer process service, KST World has been providing various process service to meet the diverse needs of customers. Our products are used by leading device manufacturers for various purposes ranging from mass production and R&D to small-lot production of test materials. In addition, our unique technologies of forming thick, thermal oxidized films offer good potential for power semiconductor devices, and their application to silicon wafers for super-high-voltage power devices is under way. Our thick film formation technologies allow silicon to exceed the limits of silicon.
Optical communication
Wafers with super-thick, thermal oxidized films developed by the unique technologies of KST World are now an indispensable material for optical devices underpinning optical communication. Our products and technologies are chosen by leading manufacturers of communication devices and optical parts around the world.
MEMS
KST World also provides optimum materials in the field of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). With respect to MEMS, silicon materials having characteristics different from semiconductors are required according to their purpose of use, thus suppliers must offer materials that meet such needs. We supply entirely new materials that have never existed before, including *ThickBOX® SOI Wafers utilizing our thick film formation technologies, and Structured SOI Wafers which can be structured as the customer wishes.
* ThickBOX® SOI Wafer
This is an entirely new type of SOI wafer in which the buried oxidized film (the BOX layer) has a thickness of up to 20 µm by utilizing KST World’s thick film formation technologies.
Silicon recycling
KST Solar is not only a vendor of silicon wafers but also an integrated provider of wafer recycling and collection services (for a fee). Recovered wafers are responsibly managed by us, and reused as silicon materials for solar cells or aluminum additives after removing the films and patterns, and sorting. Our environmental solutions help reduce the cost burden on customers.
